What it does

AutoHotkey runs small scripts that remap keys, expand abbreviations into full text, launch apps, arrange windows and automate repetitive clicks. A one-line script like ::btw::by the way already works as text expansion in every app.

Version 2 is the current release, with a cleaner language than the old v1. There is a learning curve, but the community has a script for almost everything.

  • To start a script when you sign in, put a shortcut to it in your Startup folder (Win+R, then shell:startup).
