What it does

LocalSend sends files and text between devices on the same network. Open it on both ends, pick the other device, and the transfer goes straight across your Wi-Fi or Ethernet, with no internet connection and no account.

It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS, which makes it the easiest way to move files between a Windows PC and an iPhone, or a Mac you still own. Transfers are encrypted.

Good to know

  • Both devices need to be on the same network. The first time, Windows may ask you to let LocalSend through the firewall.
  • It is also on the Microsoft Store, and on the App Store and Google Play for your phone.
